Oh my god, I think about that first video all the time. The model yanking on the leather leggings was so inspiring to my little teen self. And it reminds me that one of the great pleasures of The Row is that it’s been the story of two creative people growing up — their lives becoming bigger and deeper and their minds growing more curious. It makes me enjoy being an adult.
It’s also the only contemporary brand whose pieces really stand up to vintage. I can wear the trousers and coats with my Yohji, Romeo Gigli, old Comme and it looks right.
My daughters love watching Full House, and I always wonder if the olsen’s anonymity these days is not performative but rather a natural response to being so exposed prior to reaching the age of consent. I’m not saying it’s something they regret (I don’t know them) but that, perhaps, they simply no longer see the allure of posting a selfie on instagram?
Those chain tags…still have a sweater and tee with the original chain tags. The only brand that I have literally never parted with a piece from my closet and have been a client since the start. Great article!

I wonder if they have a fragrance, because nothing can compare to the late, great Elizabeth and James.
